What’s changed in each release of ADC, newest first.
What’s new in ADC 27.1.3Latest
This release is about the parts list coming out in the order you asked for — and staying that way after an update.
BOM sorting you can rely on
- The bill of materials sorts the way you set it — including descending, which previously did not take effect.
- The parts list in the drawing follows the bill of materials, so what you see in the BOM is what lands on the sheet.
- Sorting on a property that is not a BOM column no longer cancels the sort — the rest of your setup still applies.
- Preview does what it says — Preview in ADC Settings now sorts the BOM instead of closing the BOM window, and it shows the change you just made rather than the last saved one.
Your settings survive the update
- BOM sort and three other shared settings used to be reset to defaults by every new version. 27.1.3 stops that happening and carries your existing values forward, so you should not need to set them up again.
Across all the add-ins
- The BOM Sort dialog no longer cuts off its own labels at Windows display scaling above 100% — the default on most 4K laptops. On Inventor 2024 and older this fix arrives with the installer rather than the in-app update.
- Interface text that still appeared in English on non-English seats is now translated in all eleven languages.
27.1.2
- Duplicating a saved filter twice keeps both copies — the second copy used to overwrite the first.
- Saved patterns are listed under the name you typed, not a tidied-up version of it.
- “Save as copy” on a built-in preset gives you a copy you can actually edit.
- A locked preset now looks locked — Delete, Rename and Reset are greyed out instead of quietly doing nothing.
- The property picker reopens on the property you already chose instead of resetting.
- Module windows open at Inventor’s top-left instead of occasionally landing half off-screen.
What was new in ADC 27.1.1
This release is the biggest step ADC has taken since 27.0.7. It brings a new way to choose what gets drawn, noticeably better sheets, and two stability fixes.
Choose exactly what gets a drawing
- Component filters — decide which components ADC draws using any property you like: BOM structure, document type, material, thickness, part number, even your own iProperties. Save it as a named pattern and reuse it on every assembly. Read the guide.
- A live count before you commit — the filter shows you exactly which components match, with thumbnails, so there are no surprises when the run starts.
- Ready-made patterns — sheet metal only, parts only, exclude library and purchased components, and more. Duplicate one to make it your own.
- Your old settings carry over — the previous ignore library / purchased / Content Center toggles became filter rules automatically. Nothing to rebuild.
Better sheets, less rework
- The isometric view finally fits — ADC now measures it from the real model instead of estimating, so it can give the ISO its own column when there is room, and it stops overlapping the border or being squeezed on long parts.
- Smart Breaks that actually engage — long parts are broken based on their real size, with your own gap and style, all in one Auto Breaks group.
- Parts lists come out sorted — sorted on item number at creation, because item numbers are not row order. Set your own sort under Parts List/Balloons → Sort BOM → Setup — up to three columns, saved with the settings profile you are editing.
- Missing views fixed — with a non-default front orientation, side and top views could go missing. They no longer do.
Stability
- No more crash when closing a drawing tab after working with section views.
- A transaction leak is fixed that could disturb Inventor’s recompute on your next edit or undo.
Smaller things you will notice
- The whole component-filter interface is available in every language the add-ins support, and follows a language change immediately.
- Opening BOM Sort, or the property picker, now replaces the window you came from and returns you to it — one window at a time instead of a stack.
- A brand-new profile defaults to sorting by Part Number, like Drawing Assistant, instead of no sorting at all.
- With no active project, ADC stays on the global settings instead of creating a profile that belongs to nothing.
- Export Settings now captures everything — drawing profiles and saved filter patterns included. If you previously moved settings to another PC, export again to bring the rest across.
- Hole and thread notes no longer duplicate on certain chamfered coaxial holes.
27.0.7
- Reusable settings profiles per project — keep a named set of settings for each project and switch between them in a click.
- Per-model-type drawing views — set up views, styles, scales and orientations separately for assemblies, standard parts and sheet-metal parts.
- Run your own iLogic rules at key steps — attach external iLogic rules and choose exactly when in the process they run.
- Drawing validation before creating — ADC can check whether a drawing already exists before making a new one, so you avoid duplicates.
- Vault-aware processing — optionally pause Vault interaction during a run for a smoother, uninterrupted batch.
- Smarter automatic centerlines — broader, cleaner centerline and center-mark coverage on common features.
- Best-fit ISO position — let ADC give the isometric view its own column on the sheet when there is room, instead of always stacking it under the side view.
- Section views with depth — create top and side section views with a full or custom section depth.
- More consistent 3D annotations — model 3D annotations are now applied consistently across views.
- Help at your fingertips — the in-app info button now opens this online documentation.
