ADC (Automatic Drawing Creator) is an Autodesk Inventor add-in that generates production drawings from your 3D models automatically. You run it from the Inventor ribbon, choose what to draw, and ADC builds the drawing — views, dimensions, title block, and (for assemblies) parts lists and balloons.
What ADC produces
- Views — front, projected (top/side), isometric, and flat-pattern views for sheet-metal parts. Optional cut-section views can be generated for the side and/or top view from the front view.
- Dimensions — overall dimensions, model and 3D annotations, plus bend notes and bend dimensions on flat patterns.
- Title block & border — filled automatically from the model, using your drawing template.
- Parts lists & balloons — for assemblies, driven by your BOM structure.
- Centerlines — optionally added to holes.
What it works on
- Parts — standard parts and sheet-metal parts (
.ipt) - Assemblies (
.iam) — with a configurable BOM level. Purchased, Phantom, and Reference components are skipped.
ADC installs as a ribbon command inside Inventor and includes an Update command for refreshing existing drawings. Its behaviour is controlled through a settings dialog organised into tabs — see the Settings Reference section.
Compatibility: Autodesk Inventor 2018–2027.
