What’s new

What’s changed in each release of Axcast, newest first.

27.1.5Latest
  • New: a source folder can be limited to parts, assemblies, drawings or presentations.
  • Fixed: on Inventor 2027 the Settings window could fail to open. It now opens normally.
27.1.4
  • The export folder opens when a run finishes. No more hunting for where the files went — and if that folder is already open, Axcast brings that window forward instead of stacking another one.
  • Flat DXF layers now carry a line type and a line weight as well as a colour. Both are shown as drawn samples in the layer’s own colour rather than named, so you pick the pattern you can see. Line weight is in millimetres, and it needs a DXF version of AutoCAD 2000 or newer — at R12 the file has nowhere to store it.
  • Numbers can be formatted once instead of property by property. Whether a value shows its unit, how many decimals it keeps and whether it keeps trailing zeros are now one setting shared across the add-ins, and any single property can still override it.
  • Values that carry a size follow your document’s units. A composed column built from a part’s dimensions is read in the units the document is working in, rather than the units the database stores.
  • Choosing a property looks the same everywhere now. Picking a property used to open one of four differently shaped windows depending on where you started from. There are now two: a tick list for choosing properties, and a composer for building a value out of them.
27.1.3
  • The first release of Axcast. One dialog that takes parts, assemblies and drawings out to every format your Inventor installation can write, in a single run: pick a source, narrow the list with a component filter or the grid itself, tick as many formats as you need, choose where the files go and what they are called, and export. Each format gets its own folder, and flat patterns can be written to your fabricator’s K-factor or bend table without modifying your model.
